Type ‘C’ residences in Ostia

The Type C villas designed by Adalberto Libera are a significant example of Italian rationalist architecture. Their slender, elongated form, distributed over five levels, offers a living solution that maximises the use of space. Each floor consists of two dwellings, for a total of ten units per building.
Located in an inland area of Ostia, close to the railway, the houses reflect a strategic choice that combines accessibility and functionality. The design is characterised by an innovative use of materials and a rational interior layout, elements that contribute to creating a comfortable and practical environment for the inhabitants.
