Mercedes-Benz B-Class (W245)
The Mercedes-Benz B-Class is the mid-range minivan of sedans and station wagons from the house of the three-pointed star. It was produced in three series, distinguished respectively by the design codes W245 (from 2005 to 2011), W246 (from 2011 to 2019) and W247 (from 2019).
The B-Class is available with various diesel engines with a displacement of 2.0 liters and an output of 80 kW – 103 kW, as well as with petrol engines with a displacement of 1.5 – 2.0 liters and 70 kW – 142 kW. An automatic gearbox can also be obtained on request. In addition to ESP and airbags, the patented steer-control, a new steering assist device, and the BAS brake assistant ensure safety.

The B-Class is built according to the “sandwich” concept, which provides that the engine and gearbox are positioned partly in front and partly under the passenger compartment. In the event of a frontal collision these elements end up under the passenger compartment, thus saving space and gaining safety.
