Erosion – Creasing with living materials

1:100 Scale dwg file (meters)

The repellents have the function of encouraging the sedimentation of the material close to the bank and maintaining the current at the center of the section. They are structures transversal to the axis of the watercourse which, adequately embedded in the bank, extend towards the center of the riverbed interfering with the current.

Example of repellent (or creasing) with living material made with wood, tout-venant and fagots. The core of arid material is contained by the wooden poles and live fagots. In case of coarse solid transport the repellent can be protected by a reef placed at the base.
Depending on the heights that need to be reached, a single structure can be used or two rows of brushes can be superimposed.
