Erosion defense – repellent layered twigs

1:100 Scale dwg file (meters)

The repellents have the function of encouraging the sedimentation of the material close to the bank and maintaining the current at the center of the section. They are structures transversal to the axis of the watercourse which, adequately embedded in the bank, extend towards the center of the riverbed interfering with the current.

It is a layered twig repellent made up of a body of layers of fagots or twigs alternating with gravel tout-venant generally taken from the riverbed.
The layers are contained and protected by rows of poles whose size and pitch depend on the type of bottom and the water level.
In the case of reconstruction of the bank line, the tips of the branches must end in correspondence with the designed bank line. The base of the layered construction will be further consolidated with stones in the section where the water level fluctuates.
