Ganjali Khan Hammam
The baths were converted into an anthropological museum in 1971
The baths were built in 1631, in the southern part of Ganjali square, in a part of the Vakil Bazaar known as Bazar Ganjali. The entrance to the building is painted with ornaments from the Safavid era. An interesting feature of its architectural finish is that the carved stones of the ceiling coincide with those of the floor. It consists of a dressing room, a cold room and a warm room, all covered with domes. The Ganjali baths are unique works of architecture decorated with exquisitely crafted tiles, paintings, stuccoes and arches.
The baths were converted into an anthropological museum in 1971. There are many lifelike statues in the toilet section and main courtyard of the baths. These statues were designed at the Tehran University Faculty of Fine Arts in 1973 and then moved to this museum.
