Roundabout with cycle path

Scale 1:100 (meters)

Plan with entry of the cycle path in a roundabout
The organization of a roundabout intersection improves traffic safety: in fact, there is generally a reduction in accidents and mortality rate, not only for vehicle drivers but also for pedestrians and cyclists.
However, weak users are disadvantaged by longer routes than those that would travel under non-roundabout intersection conditions. In England the effective but expensive solution for walking to the center of the roundabout is the construction of pedestrian underpasses.
For cyclists there are never reserved tracks on the rotary crown as they would be affected by the entry or exit maneuvers of the rotary crown of motorized vehicles. The cycle paths are instead moved to areas of intersection of the entry and exit arms.
