Originally known as Amphitheatrum Flavium (Italian: Flavian Amphitheater) or simply as Amphitheatrum, it is the largest amphitheater in the world, located in the center of the city of Rome. Able to contain an estimated number of spectators between 50,000 and 75,000 units, it is the most important Roman amphitheater, as well as the most impressive monument of ancient Rome that has come down to us, known throughout the world as a symbol of the city of Rome and one of the symbols of Italy.

The photographs focus on the exteriors, rich in high-definition architectural details. We will soon also publish photographs of the interior of the Colosseum. This publication is aimed not so much at the tourist who we invite to visit the monument from life to live an exceptional experience, as at the scholar of the history of Roman architecture, hoping to be useful for his research work.
